Paint stain on an Agra Rug

We recieve lots of old tibetan and peking rugs.

I was on a free estimate/ pickup and was quite suprise to find the client had 5 rugs over 150 years old. 2 were tibetan made by Monks for cermonies, and the other were Chinese Peking rug , although one was Charles NIchols. For those who dont know. Charles NIchols was an art deco artist that was sent to HOng Kong and the rest of the Oriental and was in charge of weaving by the British. His era was between 1890 and World War 2. Most of Charles Nichols rugs are prized for thier unusall design and feelings. All rugs prior to 1890 are considered Peking. Please do not confuse Pekings with chinese fragments ( most chinese art was destroyed after regime changes) If you are in need of oriental rug repair or oriental rug repair please consider passion of persia.

Antique mashed Re-dye

After re-dying this 120 year old Antique Mashed Persian rug, i was deeply sadden. My heart really desired to re-weave the rug. The rug is 10 X 14 and the whole entire rug needs to be re-weaved. Most so-called-oriental-rug-specialist would run, and say this rug was un-repairable. Passion of Persia is the only master Weavers that can repair any and all damages to any rug including Navajos, and Animal hides. Back to the Mashad rug! The cost was a fair 30 thousand to re-weave (we are re-weaving the hole rug!) please keep in mind we are reweaving the entire rug ( 140 square feet). Please also keep in mind that we have to hand card, hand dye, ahnd spin the wool before we even begin the restoration. The time frame was 1-2 years. Unfortantly, the client could not afford the re-weave and ask for us to re-dye. We accept, but again my heart wanted to re-weave the rug to its original glory. Persian Mashads are treasured for thier rarity, and design. It is very intresting that 120 years ago this weaver was able to design an art that fits our lives today.
